The Arizona Department of Health Services Bureau of Health Systems Development offers a Rural Private Primary Care Provider Loan Repayment Program.
The purpose of this program is to provide an incentive for primary care providers to work in underserved areas of the state. Program funds are used to repay qualifying educational loans in return for primary care services in Arizona’s Medically Underserved Areas (AzMUAs).
Eligible are Arizona-licensed allopathic physicians, osteopathic physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners specializing in internal medicine, general practice, family medicine, pediatrics, or obstetrics and gynecology, as well as certified nurse midwives and dentists.
